Summary of this thread on Twitter.

"Chain of Survival" in sudden #cardiacarrest. Everything depends on how quickly CPR was started and first shock was given because during cardiac arrest there is no blood supply to brain and in only few min (max 8-10 min) the brain gets damaged.

CPR latest guideline video:

https://t.co/FJQtSQf4Xv?amp=1 6 minute video on how to do CPR and use an AED.  AED refers to Automated External Defibrillator.

Dr Deepak Krishnamurthy concludes by saying (my summary): Cardiac arrests have a very low survival rate out of hospitals. Survival rate can be improved by immediate CPR, availability of AEDs more widely, and more prompt and robust emergency response system put in by government to save lives.
